ENG-FRA -- a bilingual discussion list
ENG-FRA Info Page
In our Class One some of you expressed a desire to use the Internet to COMMUNICATE with real English speakers... university students and otherwise. (And in a more serious venue then simply a chat room...)
:-)
ENG-FRA is a bilingual mailing list...(part of the eTandem network)...and its goal is to provide a platform for native speakers of both language to discuss the two languages , English and French, and anything that concerns the cultures and people that speak them.
Since I'm one of the coordinators of the forum I follow all the messages and recently the French members have been very quiet and the English speakers have been asking for discussion and conversation...
subjects offered for discussion recently include literature... (books critical of the US and Canada), the Muslim veil question in France, and "where are all the French participants"? :-)
here are two recent postings:

A+

How are you? It is nice to have interesting things to talk about on the forum, like books and politics. I think it is not only the U.S. that doesn't have a perfect history. But with all the problems that the first world has had, we must learn from the mistakes and not hide them. God bless Canada, the land of deep and plentiful space. I would like to go there. People tell me that it is very beatiful and friendly. It is good to have the forum active again and to hear from all of you. I will go to France sometime in june or july. Let me know if you would like a pen-pal. What should I see when I am there. I hope that everybody has fun this holiday. Seasons Greetings, Molly
